听
NASHVILLE, TN and NEW YORK, NY 鈥 December 11, 2012 鈥 rpm entertainment 鈥 a new country music label, management, and publishing company 鈥 and Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, which has the largest reach of any radio or television outlet in America, today announced an agreement that will help drive growth and innovation in Internet radio.听 Under the agreement, rpm entertainment will share in Clear Channel鈥檚 broadcast revenues, aligning the business interests of both companies and helping to build a sustainable market in Internet radio.
rpm entertainment, which includes rpme records, rpme music group and rpme management, was launched in May 2012 by Scott Siman, a leading country music entertainment executive based in Nashville, TN. rpme music group owns the rights to such hit songs as 鈥淚t鈥檚 Five O鈥機lock Somewhere鈥 (Alan Jackson), 鈥淚鈥檓 Movin鈥 On鈥 (Rascal Flatts) and 鈥淟eave the Pieces鈥 (The Wreckers), among others. rpme management currently represents Maggie Rose, Yarn, Humming House, Carolina Story and a rising country group, The Command Sisters.
Siman previously served as senior vice president of Sony Music-Nashville, where he signed the Dixie Chicks to their initial deal. Prior to Sony, Siman was an entertainment attorney whose clients included Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, and Charlie Daniels.
This market-based partnership follows similar agreements between Clear Channel and Big Machine Label Group, Glassnote Entertainment Group, Naxos and DashGo. By paving the way for the development of a vibrant digital music industry, these agreements benefit all constituencies 鈥 artists, music labels, radio, and American consumers who love music.
鈥淐ountry music has always been a part of my life 鈥 it runs in my veins,鈥 said Siman. 鈥淲hile I am immensely proud of my accomplishments so far, the future is what motivates me. This agreement represents where music is going, and I鈥檓 excited that rpm entertainment will be pioneering with Clear Channel.鈥
鈥淪cott Siman knows country music inside and out,鈥 said Bob Pittman, Chief Executive Officer of Clear Channel. 鈥淗is years of experience and his reputation in the industry make him and his company an ideal choice for this partnership. His focus on emerging country artists makes this business model, which allows new acts to reach bigger, more diverse audiences, even more relevant.鈥
